Surrey 2 nd XI in their second innings needed 271 runs to win in 3 hours. The game between the two sides at Reigate in May had been drawn. For the winners, there was 1five and 9 fours in Wilkinson’s 77, scored in 140 minutes, 1 six and 10 fours in Frank’s 69, and 11 fours in Hey’s 59. In the Yorkshire first innings, Crowther and Frank added 56 runs for the seventh wicket. In the second innings, Hey and Frank added 76 runs for the same wicket. For the losers, debutant Nightingale’s 70 contained 9 fours and Gooder’s 51 included 9 fours. In the Yorkshi re second innings, Gooder took 7 wickets for 68 runs. It is believed that Bale kept wicket for Surrey in the Yorkshire first innings and Stedman in the second.
