Notes: In their second season in the competition, Suffolk met the same opponents as in 1904. Although only two matches were won, the same number as in 1904, the team rose from fourteenth place to tenth equal. One of the debutants, Herbert Wilson, was later to captain the side from 1910 to 1912, and after the War Sussex. The leading wicket-takers were Phillip Cobbold, who only played in half the matches, with 30 wickets at 13.50 and ‘Tots’ Trudgett with 29 wickets at 14.17. The leading run scorers were Fran k Mustard with 264 runs at 33.00, Ronald Gorell- Barnes with 216 at 27.00, Herbert Wilson with 255 at 25.50, and Walter Quaife, the former Sussex and Warwickshire player, with 312 runs at 24.00. The last three were debutants. No career milestones were reached during the season. For the second season running health concerns prevented Herbert Fox from playing in the final three matches. In his place, Stephen Newton, the former Cambridge University Blue, Somerset captain, Middlesex aand MCC player, who had a residential qualification for Suffolk, was invited to lead the side at the age of 52.
