The match between the two sides at Truro at the beginning of the month had also been drawn. For Cornwall, Donaldson scored 106 not out and H Tresawna played two innings of 50 and 51 respectively. In the visitors’ first innings, Hawken and Trevarthen added 53 runs for the seventh wicket, while in the Cornwall second innings, H Tresawna and Donaldson put on 137 runs for the first wicket. For the home team, Swann- Mason scored 70 not out and French 50. Gray took 7 wickets for 61 runs in the Cornwall first innings. In the Cambridgeshire innings, Swann-Mason and Gray added 60 runs for the last wicket. On the first day rain prevented the start until shortly before noon, when just 45 minutes of play was possible.
