Rain prevented play before 3.20 pm on the first day and before 4.00 pm on the second. When the two sides had met at The Oval earlier in the month, the match had also been drawn. For Surrey 2 nd XI, Moulder top-scored with 47 including 5 fours. Garrett and Meads added 58 runs for the seventh wicket in the Surrey innings. In the Glamorgan innings, E W Bale fielded as the substitute for Gooder, who was injured, and caught Cameron. A Gibson was originally selected to play for Glamorgan but, as he had not reached the ground, the Surrey captain agreed to him being replaced by R H Johnson. A player named Gill acted as substitute fielder until Johnson arrived.
