The two teams shared 1½ points. Oxfordshire were set a target of 147 runs to win in their second innings. When the last man, Wakelin, joined P Rogers 14 runs were still required for victory. P Rogers tied the scores, but Cave then bowled Wakelin. A Rogers for the home team and Cave for the visitors both took 11 wickets in the match for 71 runs. When dismissing Hutson in the Berkshire first innings, Bassett took his one hundredth wicket in championship matches.
