The game between the two teams in June at Hertford had been drawn. For the winners, Wharmby took 10 wickets in the match for 110 runs. He also scored 62 not out in the Bedfordshire second innings. His all-round performance of scoring 82 runs and taking 10 wickets for 110 runs was the best of the season in a match for a bowler taking 10 or more wickets. Oliver scored 55. For Hertfordshire, White took 10 wickets in the match for 117 runs, including 8 for 42 in the Bedfordshire first innings.
