The match between the two teams in June at Bedford had been drawn. For the winners, F G Brooks scored 137 not out with 1 six, 18 fours, 2 threes and 12 twos, Pollitt 99 with 10 fours and Orr 58. In the Bedfordshire first innings, Pollitt and Wharmby added 97 runs for the ninth wicket, which was the highest partnership for that wicket during the season. Oliver took 9 wickets in the match for 154 runs. The match aggregate of 835 runs was the third highest of the season. When Pollitt had scored 59 runs in the Bedfordshire first innings, he reached the career milestone of 1,000 runs in championship matches.
