In the Hertfordshire first innings, Coleman and Fastnedge put on 57 runs for the ninth wicket. Katinakis arrived at the ground too late to bat in the Buckinghamshire first innings. Bird had originally been allocated the number 6 batting slot in the visitors’ first innings, but he was also late and did not come to the wicket until after Bartlett had been dismissed.
