For the winners, Coleman took 12 wickets in the match for 125 runs. Golding’s 95 included 9 fours and Hickin’s 58 contained 2 fours. In the Hertfordshire first innings, Hickin and Golding put on 111 runs for the second wicket, which was joint third highest for that wicket during the season, and Doll and Coleman added 53 runs for the ninth. For Bedfordshire, Orr scored 50. In the Bedfordshire second innings, Orr and Brown added 54 runs for the seventh wicket. The 53 extras conceded in the two Bedfordshire innings were the highest in a match during the season. When dismissing Horton in the Bedfordshire second innings, Coleman reached the career milestone of one hundred wickets in championship matches.
