Norfolk, after dismissing Cambridgeshire at 5.45pm for 148 in their second innings, needed 91 runs to win with 35 minutes of the game left. It was agreed to end the match at this stage. The meeting between the two teams at Norwich earlier in the month had also been drawn. For the visitors, Shore took 13 wickets in the match for 117 runs. There were 5 fours in Fryerís 66. The 6 dismissals by Blake were the joint highest by a wicket-keeper in a match during the season, W H Brain of Glamorgan having achieved the feat earlier in August against Northamptonshire at Northampton. For Cambridgeshire, Wattsís 83 included 11 fours. Thomas kept wicket for Cambridgeshire when Watts bowled.
