At one stage Norfolk in their second innings were 119 runs behind with 4 wickets to fall. Garnett and Page then put on 103 runs for the seventh wicket, which was the second highest partnership for that wicket during the year. With two wickets to fall, Norfolk were only 5 runs ahead, but partnerships of 61 for the ninth wicket between Cowles and Blake, and 65 for the tenth wicket between Cowles and Shore, ensured a draw. The tenth wicket partnership of 65 runs was the second highest for that wicket during the season. For Durham, there were 12 fours in Whitwellís 99 and 13 fours in Elliotís 85. They put on 127 for the second wicket, which was the third highest partnership for that wicket during the season.
