In the Buckinghamshire first innings, Cobb and E S Boddy put on 102 for the first wicket. In addition, the former was a new record for the Championship, exceeding the 330 balls bowled by V A Titchmarsh for Hertfordshire in the first innings against Buckinghamshire at Aylesbury in 1897, and the latter was the equal second highest number of maidens bowled in a match during the season.
