Pointon’s 76 not out was the second highest innings of the season by a batsman in the fourth innings of a match. The match aggregate of 746 was the third highest of the year. Berrow’s Worcester Journal reported that Fereday did not arrive at the ground in time to bat in the Worcestershire first innings “due to a misunderstanding”.
