For the visitors, there were 17 fours and 5 threes in G E Bromley-Martin’s 106, scored in 2¼ hours. Raynor took 11 wickets in the match for 116 runs, including 7 for 75 in the Staffordshire second innings. In the Worcestershire first innings Bromley-Martin and Romney added 88 runs for the seventh wicket. Bird was absent in the Worcestershire first innings having missed the train according to Berrow’s Worcester Journal, his Club having refused leave according to The Staffordshire Post, and having sprained a wrist according to The Staffordshire Sentinel. On the second morning, Darlow, the remaining Staffordshire batsman, arrived 15 minutes late, and play was held up to await his arrival. He was bowled by the first ball he received.
