ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kit Bartlett was a founder member of the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians in 1973 and served on the Association’s committee from 1995 to 2006. He was also editor of its Famous Cricketers series during that period. He saw his first match at Lord’s in 1942 and also saw Jack Hobbs bat in a charity match in 1938. He has been a member of Surrey County Cricket Club since 1954 and MCC since 1971. He was a personnel executive with London Transport for the whole of his working career. Married with three children and six grandchildren, he lives in Tunbridge Wells.
