These included Harry Gration, the BBC Look North presenter, the solicitor George Hepworth (father of Peter) and the film and television producer David Lascelles, the present Lord Harwood, Earl of Harewood. He has produced some episodes of the Inspector Morse series. David was a teenager when his father George brought him to the nets a few times in the family limo and this seemed to interest or amuse Johnny’s children but it would have been no skin off Johnny’s nose as he treated everyone equally. David later attended the summer school at Otterburn Hall. He was still a good batsman when he finished his playing days at a friendly team that I play for, Cambridge Methodists CC.
