It was just one of those moments which stayed with my friend and is fondly remembered. We are not just speaking of the cricket school though. Johnny coached pre-season at Somerset, he coached at Lincolnshire, he coached in schools, he coached wherever he went. Alastair Fyfe at the Somerset nets remembers him as someone perpetually smiling who was always kind, thoughtful and ready to help even for someone who regarded himself as a lesser cricketer.
