Lives in Cricket No 5 - Rockley Wilson

Rimington-Wilson was the Lord of the Manor and patron of the church, the family connection presumably having much to do with the appointment. In that sense the Reverend Wilson was a “society” clergyman. But during his long Ministry he served his congregation and the wider community well and was very popular with the villagers. The value of his work was recognised when in 1899 William was made an honorary canon of York Minster. He remained at Bolsterstone until his death in 1914. The Wilson Family 9 Victorian family holiday. A photograph taken at Llandudno, probably in 1889. Back row (l to r): Charles Macro Wilson (Rockley’s uncle), Cyril Reynold Wilson (brother). Middle row: Havis (sister), Elizabeth Mary Wilson (aunt), Rev William Reginald Wilson (father), Martha Wilson (née Thorp, mother). Front row: Phyllis (sister), Rockley, Reginald Thorp Wilson (brother). Brothers Rowland and Clem are missing.
