Lives in Cricket No 49 - Enid Bakewell
87 1985 five for 28 in eight overs. They went on to lose the final again, playing Somerset Wanderers. Somerset Wanderers made 145 for six (Enid 10-1-46- 2), Nottingham 83 (Enid seven). Enid had virtually carried the side for two years, but it was not quite enough. But through 1984 and 1985 nobody in Nottingham could have paid much attention to the cricket. There was something else going on that would have far more important consequences for Newstead and for the country.
