And in 2017 the University of Greenwich awarded her a degree for the work she did in Dartford all those years ago. Enid today still digs Robert’s allotment, looks after her grandson, and still plays cricket and bowls. Will she manage to play until she’s 80? You wouldn’t bet against it.
