But it wasn’t the hereditary element in cardio-vascular disease that was an immediate problem for Maurice; it was another familial complaint - Parkinson’s disease. Although rarer in women Maurice’s granny Burgess, his mother and three of her sisters, Polly, Della and Eliza Anna, all suffered from Parkinson’s in their final years.
