113 The Rector of Bergh Apton - The End of a Muscular Christian The village hall at Bergh Apton, built on the site of the old cricket ground. Another picture of the site of the old cricket ground at Bergh Apton. Part of the village hall can be seen on the right. The cricketers of Bergh Apton changed in a building across the road from the ground, departing for the field of play through a door, later bricked up. This picture shows the site of that door and is the only surviving physical evidence that cricket was played at Bergh Apton.
