Lives in Cricket No 44 - LCH Palairet
In September it was reported in the Bath Courier that he had entered a croquet competition in Bath. He lost 19-13 in the first round; later in the month he fared better, reaching the third round. This could have been the prequel to him starting to play golf, as by 1906 he was certainly playing golf and had given up croquet. He attended the Somerset AGM where the club announced a big loss; the guarantors agreed to meet the shortfall. The local press stated that without these members the club would have folded; worrying times, that would continue for years. A Spy cartoon of LCH 1902 and one more good season 89
