Lives in Cricket No 42 - Frank and George Mann

78 Frank Mann: Test Selector any of his fifteen innings that year, Frank did make 308 valuable runs in all, reaching 13,000 runs in first-class cricket during the match against Warwickshire at Lord’s. In 1931 Frank could only play in three county matches, against Derbyshire at the end of July and Surrey at the beginning of August, and then against Kent at Lord’s at the end of August which would prove to be the last county game of his career. His last first-class match was in 1933, playing for the Leveson Gower XI against Oxford University at Eastbourne, and his last two ‘second-class’ matches were for the Free Foresters against Netherlands while touring that country in 1933 and 1934.
