Lives in Cricket No 39 - Alec Watson
59 pair had little but apparent nationality in common: MacGregor the Edinburgh-born Uppingham School, Cambridge University, Middlesex and England amateur; Watson, the Coatbridge-bred Lancashire professional. It was during the match versus Sussex at Hove on 15,16 August that Watson gave an interview to a reporter from The Cricket Field , as mentioned earlier. While it is not a particularly revealing interview, Alec did mention his exploits against the All-England Eleven nearly thirty years earlier, and that he used to keep wicket in one over and bowl in the next, alternately. He put his fielding Slow Decline and Sudden End Alec Watson towards the end of his career.
