Notes: All partnerships were for Middlesex. Those of 310 and 222 were made in successive matches. Wisden’s analysis of major opening partnerships, last published in its record section in 1992, stated that Robertson and Brown made 34 century partnerships. However, the above 35 such partnerships have been verified against a number of sources, including Middlesex scorebooks. Robertson and Brown opened with a century at least once in every season between 1938 and 1955, except in 1950 and 1953. In 1950, however, they twice put on a hundred together for the second wicket.
