AbOUt the AUthOr Douglas Miller is a life-long cricket enthusiast, who continued playing for his village team until the age of 69. his first book for the Acs was The Cricket Grounds of Gloucestershire in 2000. he followed this with A History of Bucks County Cricket Club in 2006. When the Lives in Cricket series was introduced in 2007, he wrote the first book, Allan Watkins: A True All-Rounder , following it with Jack Bond: Lancashire Lad, Lancashire Leader in 2010. his other titles are Born to Bowl: The Life and Times of Don Shepherd (2004) and Charles Palmer, More than Just a Gentleman (2005), both for Fairfield books. Douglas Miller spent most of his working life in market research. he has been a panel umpire in the thames valley league since 2002.
