Lives in Cricket No 29 - AN Hornby
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Stuart Brodkin is a freelance sports journalist specialising in cricket and horse racing. He has been on the staff of the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express and has also worked for the Racing Post, The Sun and the BBC. A lifelong Manchester-born Lancashire fan, he spends most of the summer driving up and down the M1 and M6 from his home in London to watch his beloved Lancashire. In 2011 he was finally rewarded for his loyalty when the Red Rose county ended 77 years without an outright win in the Championship. He also supports a long-suffering wife, Bella (to whom he dedicates this book), four children, Alex, Oscar, Edgar and Edward, two cats, Fudge and Smudge, and Manchester City. His first book in this series was Poor Johnny, the story of Lancashire spinner Johnny Briggs. He is delighted that the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians has given him the chance to write about another iconic figure in the club’s history, Albert Hornby.
