Lives in Cricket No 15 - Michael Falcon
Michael Falcon served in the Royal Field Artillery, in an East Anglian Brigade; he reached the rank of captain and, according to the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum, served in Gallipoli and Palestine. The Museum suggests that he was involved with the Norfolk yeomanry, adding that the yeomanry were often associated with the artillery. The Who’s Who of British Members of Parliament and the Eastern Daily Press also link him to the Territorials and credit him with serving in France as well as the Middle East. He was mentioned in despatches by Lord Allenby whilst serving in Palestine in 1918; he was still stationed there when the call came from England for him to stand as a candidate in the 1918 election. Harry Falcon also served in the Royal Field Artillery, being linked both to the 1st East Anglian and the 266th Brigades. He served on the western front and attained the rank of major. William Falcon joined the Royal Engineers and was also attached to the Transport Corps. Like his older brother Michael, he served in Gallipoli and Palestine, where he was also mentioned in despatches, and also reached the rank of captain; he was an acting major when the War finished. 42 Taking Over the Reins at Norfolk: 1911-1914
