Lives in Cricket No 13 - AP Lucas
ABOUT THE AUTHOR David Pracy was born at Epping in 1946 and, with the encouragement of his parents, began supporting Essex County Cricket Club seven years later. He attended Sir George Monoux Grammar School in Walthamstow, twenty years after his sporting hero, Doug Insole. He started to research the social history of the club as part of his Open and Essex University degrees, and was remarkably fortunate in finding two cricket-loving tutors. He is a retired librarian whose last job was as Local Studies Librarian in Waltham Forest, which includes Leyton where Essex played for many years. He was the editor and main author of The Story of Nazeing , a two-volume, award-winning history of the west Essex village where he lives with his wife and dog.
