Club hockey Charlesworth played hockey in the Western Australian grade competition for the club side Cricketers from 1968 to 1979, during which the side won the premiership in five seasons. He captained the club from 1976 to 1978. He played for the premiership-winning University side in 1980, for Suburbans in 1981 and 1982, captaining the side in 1981, and for Cricketers/Westside Wolves from 1983 to 1988. When playing for the University side in 1980, he won the Olympians’ Medal awarded annually to the ‘Fairest and Best’ player in the competition. 106 Hockey Playing Career
