This performance rendered an Oxford victory a possibility, but it was turned into an actual fact by the hard and plucky hitting of Messrs. Brain, Page, and Key. Woof, in the second innings of Cambridge, obtained 6 wickets for 20 runs, and Barnes took 3 wickets for 4 runs and 3 for 11 runs. On the third day, when the ground was rapidly improving, Scotton batted finely for 43 (not out), and Barnes made 28 (not out). Mr. J. E. K. Studd Avas top scorer for his University Avith 20 and 8, and in the first innings of the Marylebone Club there was but one double figure score. Apart from the absence of Mr. C. A.
