Batting Averages should be made out th u s : Times Name. Innings. not out. Runs. Most in an Inns. Average In calculating the average, the number of times not out should be deducted from the number of innings appearing in the preceding column, which should include every innings, whether completed or not. The number remaining over should be set down without being reduced to a decimal quantity. The averages should always be made out in order of merit. Bowling Averages should be set out th u s :— James Lilly white, of Sussex, who is the only Lilly white now alive, and who played for his County for twenty years without missing a match, begs to inform the public that he is the sole Proprietor of the Cricketers’ Companion and of the Cricketing business carried on at 1*0, Seymour Street, Euston Square, London, N .W ., with A . W . Fenner, as Manager. He hopes that the patronage accorded to this work and to the old firm for so “ any years in the past, will be continued to him in the future.
