J . Black- wall * has hardly scored as well this year as m igh t have been expected from his las year’s p la y ; a good ba t, bu t lacks s t re n g th ; very useful as a change bowler ; a poor field. C. E. Tunnicliffe * has improved greatly in his ba tting ; hits hard, but ie-no^ very c e r ta in ; in bowling he has ra the r disappointed us, though i t is only fair to sa th a t the wickets have no t suited h im ; the most b r illian t field in the team, and a sure catch.
