Le Fleming (18), and Mr. W. H. T. Panby (17). 1st Inns; 2nd Inns. Total. June 18, M.C.C. and Ground 107 213 320 Lord’s. Cambridge University 158 243 401 Cambridge University won by 81 runs. The M.C.C. had a very good team, and Cambridge’s victory was highly creditable. Messrs. Paravicini and J. E. K. Studd showed the best batting for the winners, the former making 40 and 65—two finely hit innings— and Mr. Studd 16 and 69. Mr. C. T. Studd scored 6 and 30, Mr. Wright 22 and 13, and Mr. C. A. Smith 31 and 3. For the M.C.C., Barnes made 4 and 72, and Flowers 40 and 21. Up to this match Barnes had done little or nothing, and his brilliant 72 was the turning point of his season’s work. Sherwin hurt his shoulder in making a catch at the wicket and could not play on the second day. The Club therefore batted one short in the last innings. 1st Inns. 2nd Inns. Total. The game was, o f course, greatly in favour of the Etonians, but, according to Marylebone rules, the result was a draw. For the College, Mr. R. J. Lucas made 62, Mr. F. Thomas 40, Mr. H. Philipson 31, and the Hon. C. M. Knatchbull-Hugessen 22 (not out). Mr. C. E. Farmer, with 29, was top scorer for the Club. 1st Inns. 2nd Inns. Total. June 20, M.C.C. and Ground 35 — 35 Elstree. Elstree Masters’ Club 294 — 294 Drawn. M.C.C. had lost 3 wickets. The Rev. Y. F. Royle played in fine form for 100, and his best sup porter was Mr. P. H. Morton, who took out his bat for 74. 1st Inns. 2nd Inns. Total. June 20, M.C.C. and Ground 131 — 131 Winchester. Winchester College 88 69 157 ■ Drawn. Winchester had lost 7 wickets. Had time permitted, the College must certainly have lost. Woof and AV.Mycroft bowled finely for the M.C.C., and little could be done against them. Mr. C. L.
