In calculating the average, the “ not o u t” innings should pJ deducted from the number of innings appearing in the precedin» column, which should include every innings whether completed or not, and the number of runs remaining over should be set down without reducing them to a decimal quantity. / Bowling Averages should be made out thus : Name. Overs. Maidens. Runs Runs; Wickets. per Wicket. James Lillywhite, of Sussex, who for twenty years played for his County without missing a match, the only cricketer of that name in existence, and the only Lillywhite alive who has taken part in County and first-class Cricket in England and Australia, begs to inform the public that he is sole proprietor of the Companion , and of the Cricketing business carried on at 10, Wv with A. W. Fenner as Manager as heretofore, and hopes that the liberal patronage accorded to this work and to the old firm for so many years past will .be continued to him in the future.
