POSITION OF THE MEN IN THE F IE L D TO FA ST LE FT -H AND BOWL ING ( a s MORLEY o r EMMETT). Long Stop * Long Slip. * Long Leg. * Cover Point. * Short Slip. * Wicket Keeper. * Point. * Mid Wicket off. * Bowler. * Short Leg # Mid Wicket on. * It is necessary for this bowler, as well as others, to change his men according to the style of the batsman’s play. A very useful place for a field for this class of oowler is either an extra mid-off to save the run, or deep on the off side. Much depends on the state ol the ground, style of the batsman, and accuracy of the bowler. Long teg is frequently brought up to save the run, and long-stop agai employed elsowhere.
