McKenzie (13.2) is an eligible left-hand bat; he also keeps wicket. D. Murray (27.1) bats with a dashing style, bowls medium pace and is a very sure field. G. Lye (9.7) is a poor bat. A. Taylor (7), splendid field at point; won the fielding prize ; is a good bat, hits wrell to leg. A. H. Leith (6), hard hitter; fair long-stop ; good catch. J. B. Tawse (2.1) keeps wickets fairly well; is rather small at present, but with time aud training will become a good b a t ; good change bowler, breaking from leg. LASSWADE and ETCETERAS.—Capt., W. A. Sommerville; Sec., H. F. Cald. well, Lasswaue, Midlothian. Colours, pale blue, chocolate, and yellow. Distance from Polton Station, 6 minutes’ walk. Matches, 43—won 33, lost 4, drawn 6. By winning 33 matches out of 43 played, the Lasswade Club has done a bigger performance than any club in Scotland. The principal matches during the season were with Drumpellier, Grange, North of Ireland, Edin. University (twice), Perthshire, Brunswick, Berwick, Merchiston, and Loretto, all of whom were defeated excepting the North of Ireland Club, who won a close match by seven runs. B atting A verages .
