F ripp (8.9), a very good medium.pace howler, with a talent for yorkers; also a steady bat, but wants more hit, and should practise to slows; a capital field. H. T. Fripp (20.2), the best hat in the team, rarely failing to score; has a beautiful stroke on the leg .s id e ; an excellent wicket-keeper. P. C. Fripp (9.5), a useful man; hits very hard, and is a good field and safe catch. T. B . R. HilL (4.5), unlucky with the bat; an energetic field, though not always to ho trusted with a catch. J. H. Lonsdale (4.8) makes some runs occasionally ; a good field and sure catch; a judicious captain and most energetic secretary. H. S. Naylor (4.2), poor bat, but fields well. J. J. Penny (8.1), very steady hat, with strong defence, hut a slow scorer ; irreproachable field at mid-on, and a successful lob bowler. E. is. Bhackle (14.2), a good hat, hitting very hard ; bowls slow round for a change, and is a good field and safe catch ; can take the wicket. J. E. Stansfield ( 5 . 6 ), a capital fast bowler, always getting wickets; as a batsman is too fond of a h i t ; not a safe catch. H. P. Thomas (3.4), nnsuccessful with the bat ; a really good fast round-arm bowler, and the keenest of cricketers; well known with the Incogniti. J. J. Weld (7.3) ought to have made more runs than he did, as he bats in excellent sty le ; a fast, but expensive bowler, and a very fine field. Rev. L. A. Wynne (6.1) makes runs in his own sty le ; not a safe catch. * ?
