Coatf-s (8.1), very steady bat; hitring well on the leg side. G. Legg (6.7), on his day destructive fast bowler, but does n< t bowl as straight as he might. S. Preston (4) has not practised this year, and his hatting has suffered in consequence. A. Frond (4), good fielu, and will make a good hat. J. Orchard (3.6) bowls underhand, and hits very hard. J. Perry (2.7), steady defensive bat; very slow field. W. Tarrafield (2.7), poor bat, but first-rate long-stop. A. Newman (1.8), poor bat, and unreliable field. H.
