Warren (35.3), a very fine bat, cuts and drives with great power; a first-class %wicket-keeper and brilliant field. E. Williamson (31.4) has batted consistently well, and greatly improved this season, at times scoring heavily. E. C. Lindup (30.4), the steadiest and most stylish bat in the team; very fine in the out-field. F. W. Freeman (24.18) possesses great hitting powers, particularly on the on side ; very good bowler; safe field. F. P. Owen (18), very steady bat and good field, especially at cover-point. B. Cook (12.0), useful bat, and scores freely; uncertain in the field. A. F. L. Fattison (10.12) can generally make runs, but wanting in style. A. D. Wallen (10.1) keeps up his average; indifferent field. E. L. Chavasse (9.4), a regular slogger; very fast bowler; comes off at times. C. A. Btein (8.9), generally good for runs; very successful slow bowler. V. W. Blair (8.4), a fair bat and good field. R. Hagan (8.1) show's great improvement in his batting this season ; has once or twice pulled the match out of the fire. A. Carter (7.6), careful bat; very fine point. W. H. Gallier (6.6), good fast bowler; unsuccessful in batting thisseason ; has room for improvement in his fielding. R. Lamont (6) has deteriorated somewhat in batting; sometimes comes off as a bowler. G. Sansom (6.6) can keep up his wicket when runs are required; poor field. F. B. Godrich (5.1), unlucky as a bat; very good field; shines at cover-point; fair change bowler. W. J, Jeffries (2.2), his average is no criterion of his true form; a splendid long-stop.
