T..Tayler* (12.4), very steady as a bat, with good defence, but lacks hitting power; has kept wicket most successfully. E. H . Mariette (3), a good medium-nace bowler; loses heart too soon ; a poor b a t ; bow ling average, 6.15. A. F. B. Church (17.1), a fair bat, scoring quickly when set. T. C. Clark* (9), a fast but rather erratic b ow le r ; often very successful ; a hard hitter and splendid field ; bow ling average, 6.16. A. White* (7.2), a fair bat and good long-stop. F. A. W. Tayter (11.3), rather too anxious to score; a useful change bowler. E. T. W . Disbrowe * (5.1) woul 1 bat fairly but for nervousness; a useful left-hand bowler an 1 excellent field. G. A. Davies ( 1 2 . 1 ), a fair bat when steady; has improved much during the season. H. E. (14.10), very much improved as a bat an i field ; good defence, and hits well to leg ; has made an excedent captain. A. K. Marshall (11. 3), very much improved both in defence and hitting; has played some good innings, but hits too much in the a ir ; useful change bowler and good field. H . G. Rawlings (13.2), a good bowler w ith considerable break ; has been very destructive at times; very patient defence as a bat, but doeR not use his wrists ; an excellent field. A . Compton (11.7) can bat in very nice style if he chooses, but seldom does in a match ; a good field and safe catch. J. C. Pinnell (7.9) played well on one or two occasions, but lacks style and defence ; a safe field and cai ch, but bad thrower. A. Demio ( 8 . 6 ), good defence and plenty of patience; fair bow ler and field, but a bad runner. A. Quiney (8.4) as a bat possesses plenty of patience in defence, though of a peculiar style ; a fair left-hand bowler with nice easy action. G. Parker (10.4), free hitter and active field; ought to make a good man some day. W . Carter (9), very fair field near the w icket; sometimes makes runs, but his batting is chiefly valuable by reason of his being left-handed. T . B.
