B arney , average plate winner with fine record of 40.2; very free punishing bat; a consistently large scorer; splendid field and useful head bowler" H. L. W hitfeld (20.4), a good and pretty bat, safe for runs; a fine field, and very successful bowler. J. A. B roughton (19.5), a hard-hitting bat, often scoring largely; very fast, but rather erratic, bowler; fair field. H. S teward (17.2) played only five innings; generally made runs. F. S. W orpley (15.4), strong bat, but fell off rather towards end of season, scored heavily in the earlier matches; can also bowl. W. P. S tudholme (12), fair bat, played well at times ; good field. R. B. S tewart (11.2), a very steady bat, and good slow bowler. L. W. K lng -H arman (10.8), an uncertain hat, hard hitter; good, safe field; can also keep wicket. H. P. H ansell (7.12), a fair, hot nervous bat, playing very straight with tremendous reach; indifferent field. F. K.
