H kale (38), the mainstay of the eleven in batting; has got most runs and most wickets for the College; very good field. W. B. D avenport (9.1), a lively player, fair bat, and good field; has been seen to bowl. S. H. W alrond (14.1), useful bat and bowiGr; good field. F. G. L ushington (8.1), good fast bowler; his absence in many matches was a great loss to the eleven; good left-handed bat. W. H. E dgar (33.4), a lively bat; generally scores; an excellent field at point, and moderate bowler. W. H. S pottiswoodk (12.9), useful, though showy bat; safe field in the country. H. C hitty (12.2), fair wicket-keeper, but does not make the most of his chances; a bard-hitting bat. A. R otherham (8.0), a hard, clean bitter, and a good field; could not play much for the eleven this season. A. B. W itson (14.8), good defensive bat, fairly safe held, and moderate slow bowler. L atham , a thoroughly reliable bat, with excellent defence, and a consistent scorer; kept wickets with fair success. J. A. D un , very safe in the field; steady bat, scores very freely off loose bowling ; has bowled lobs. H. H. D obinson , good steady bat, with plenty of defence; might hit more ; safe in the field. E. R. W ethey , perhaps the prettiest bat in the eleven, but unfortunate throughout the season ; good field at cover-point. W. J. B arry improved as the season went on; bats in good style; slow in the field. W. M. P ike , a hard-hitting bat, without any defence; good field; captained the eleven with much judgment. I. F. J ardine , the fast bowler of the eleven, on his day almost unplayable ; poor bat; can hit very hard. J. H. W are , fair bowler, with large break-back; only played a fewmatches at the end of the season. H. T.
