K kmp (Harrow).—A dangerous, though not a sound bat; very likely to score against amateur bowling of the present day. Is gifted with good nerve, and plays slow bowling well, covering a lot of ground forward and bringing the left shoulder well round. Is a good amateur wicket-keeper, and worked hard as captain, and was popular in that difficult capacity. Is rather out of his element on sticky wickets. C . F. H. L eslie (Rugby).—A disappointing player, partly, though not wholly, accounted for by want of practice. Is very weak to straight balls well up to him, being apt to make half volleys into tices and then playing late. Does not hit quite straight to balls on the leg-stump. Occasionally plays a very brilliant innings. Ib a careful bat and watches the ball, though by no means a slow scorer. A very fine field and thrower, and a fast erratic bowler. J. G. W alker (Loretto).—The soundest hat in the Eleven, and improved greatly this year. Plays very straight and watches the ball carefully, making him a more trust worthy bat than the majority on difficultwickets. Cuts well, but holds his bat too low on the handle. Is not a good judge of a run. A fair field at point. . •
