W. N. R oe .—A college-match hat, scoring large ly in such matches, hut not a sound hat, and very nervous on first go ing in. Hits hard when set. Bowls slow round-arm with a fair break, and succeeds in keeping down runs. Fields well at long-leg. J. A. T u r n e r (Upp ingham ).—Has a fa ir defence, but plays in too cramped a style in an important match, being afraid o f p lay ing his own game, which is a fa ir ly free one A first-rate field and bowls a difficult ball, being in consequence usefnl in getting his side out o f a difficulty.
