Unable to play last season ow in g to ill health. A. H. E vans (Clifton), Somersetshire, I Zimgari, and Harlequins. Has much fallen off as a bowler fromwant of practice ; a vigorous bat, and energetic field. W. E vershed (Derbyshire). A fair bat, playing strongly and fielding well. \y a . F airbanks (Clifton), Gloucestershire. A very fair bat and good field. G. S. F oljambk (Eton), Notts, M.C.C., and I Zingari. Can bat pretty well, and is able to hit; not reliable in catching; does not play much now. W. F oord -K elcey , Kent and Harlequins. A very fast light-handed bowler, and very dangerous if the wicket is rough ; as a bat drives hard, but baa fallen off.' W . F. F orbes (Eton), Yorkshire (bv residence), M.C.C., and I Zingari. With a little more first-class play would have been one of the best all-ronnd men in England; a rapid scorer, and fast bowler and fine field. A.F. J. Unable toplay much during last season; is a very useful man on a side, being a straight, medium- pace bowler ; a hard hitting bat; his bowling is very deadly on a soft wicket. W. J. F ord (Repton). A tremendous hitter and large scorer in inferior matches ; fair field at point. Rev. A. F. E. F orman , Derbyshire. A good bat and fine field. W. H. F owler , Somersetshire. A tremendous hitter, and, when set, a largo scorer. A. S. F rancis (Rugby), Middlesex. A long scorer in minor matches; has fair defenca and great hitting powers; a change bowler. C. K. F rancis (Rugby), Middlesex, M.C.C., I Zingari, Free Foresters, and Harlequins. A good fast bowler, with some work on the ball; he has not been quite so successful lately; as a bat can hit well, but requires more steadiness; rather apt tobo slack in the field, but if he likes can bo very “ handy,” especially at slip. J. F rank , Yorkshire Gentlemen. In the present dearth of amateur bowling is excelled by few in this department, being fast right-hand and straight, and bumps awkwardly ; amoderate bat. G. F reeman , Yorkshire. Has comeover to the amateurs ; is still a fine fast bowler. F. E. R. F ryer (Harrow), Suffolk, M.C.C., I Zingari, Free Foresters, and Quidnuncs. Does not nowplay in many goodmatches; a fine bat, with good style; bowls the fashionable slow round, and is a pretty sure catch. W. II. G ame (Sherborne), Surrey and Harlequins. Has a hideous stylo o f batting, but is, nevertheless, apt tomake runs against the best bowling; a fine field, and an indifferent slowbowler. W. R. G ilbert , Gloucestershire. Has a good defence, and was a good field ; bowls an inferior slow round, and sometimes surprises his side by getting wickets. G. H. G oldney (Eton), Quidnuncs and Free Foresters. An energetic cricketer; bowls fast round arm, hits hard, and works energetically. E. M. G race , Gloucestershire. Not so qu ick a run-getter as form er ly ; constan tly ge ts his leg in front o f the w ic k e t ; a large Bcoror still in m inor matches, but does not ge t so m any runs iu the best company ; bowls slow under-hand and medium round ; an active, energetic, and exce llen t field at point. \V. G. G race , Gloucestershire and M.C.C. Is beginning to feel the advance of years, and, though his defence is as strong a3 ever, cannot score nearly so rapidlv, having in some degree lost his marvellous power of scoring off good balls, but is still the best bat in England ; a slow round-arm bowler, but was much hit last season; a grand field, especially at point. A. G ray , Yorkshire. A good slowround-armbowler. C. E. G reen (Uppingham), Captain of Essex County, M.C.C.,I Zingari, and Quidnuncs. A great supporter of cricket and cricketers; a very fine clean hitter; especially excels in driving; has been known to bowl with success, but rarely attempts it now; a good field; plays little first-class cricket now, except, of course, with the UppinghamRovers and his County Eleven.
