Woof, with wickets at an average cost of 16 runs, has howled well throughout th season. Mr. C. T. Studd is again at the head of the amateur list but his wickets are fewer by sixteen than in 1882, and have each cost two more runs. Mr. W. G Grace has proved very expensive. Of the others Messrs. A. G. Steel—who has howled less than usual—C. A. Smith* C. E. Horner, W . E. Roller, G. E. Robinson, S. Christoplierson, E. Peake* H. G. Topham, A. Penn, and H.
