Bowden, one of the most successful Public School batsme of the year, played a splendid innings of 142 for Dulwich. Mr. p. p p Knott (34) and Mr. A. Christmas (30) also batted well. The Lancing boys started badly, losing 6 wickets for 61. The remaining batsmen, however, played up remarkably well. Mr. A. Hammond scored 33, Mr. H. Hammond 24, Mr. H. B. Kane and Mr. W. H. B. Wix each 22. Only two members of the Hurst team reached double figures, the others offering a very poor resistance to the bowling of Messrs. Hardy, Stock, and Brown. The two double figure scorerswere Mr. It. Robinson 30 (not out), and Mr. F. H. M. Kelson 12. Mr. Hardy took 5wickets for 34 runs, and Mr. Stock 3 for 21 runs. Total. 109 147 Total. 253 11 *
