Some capital batting was shown for the winning team by Mr. H. Harding, 72 (not out), Mr. J. II. Copleston 59, and Mr. P. E. Harrison 45. The Bradfield boys were quite overmatched, but Mr. G. C. Hare (2 and 30) and Mr. H. N. Paine (1 and 16) played fair cricket. Mr. N. Morice bowled successfully and took 12 Bradfield wickets. BRIGHTON COLLEGE v. LANCING COLLEGE. 1st Inns. 2nd Inns. Total. June 11, Brighton College 89 — 89 Brighton. Lancing College 222 — 222 Lancing won on the first innings by 133 runs. The winning side showed capital cricket all round. Mr. W . J. Wilson scored 82, Mr. H. B. Kane 38, Mr. W. H. B. W i x 29, and Mr. T. Pellatt 27. Mr. H. Hammond took 7 wickets and Mr. H. Hardy 3. Lancing College 271 — 271 Lancing won on the first innings by 150 runs. 4 The return match between the same teams. Lancing gained rather a more decisive victory than before. The main cause of success was the splendid batting of Mr. T. Pellatt, who scored 161. The vigour of his hitting will best be judged from the following figures— fifteen fours, sixteen threes, and fourteen twos. His best supporter was Mr. W . S. Melsome with 63. Total June 9, Brighton College 88 — S8 Brighton. Tonbridge School 444 — 444 Tonbridge School won on the lirst innings by 356 runs, and had one wicket to fall. The Tonbridge boys had a strong advantage from start to finish Some admirable hatting was shown. Mr. A. O. Hubbard plaved a brilliant innings of 162, Mr. J. \V. Little made 08, Mr. \V.
